I had my first real experience with soy milk today. It went… okay.
I’m giving some thought at the moment to going vegetarian for environmental and humane reasons, mostly the former as I’ve still no real problems with killing an animal to eat it.
However being unsure as to how the animal has been treated means that I can’t really in good faith continue to buy meat indiscriminately.
Milk would definitely fall into the humane category though, so thought I’d experiment with soya milk. It tastes a bit weird, like unsweetened condensed milk would be the closest I could come to describing it, or perhaps there’s another taste behind that I can’t quite place.
I had a small drink of it earlier and it was okay, but my 3/4 full cup of tea beside me that’s been growing cold for about 3 hours may be a testament to me not liking it.
I’ll try again tomorrow after the weigh in and give my conversion some more though.
